Comparisons with Figured Insights allow you to create an on-demand benchmark, comparing a farm or set of farms against a baseline group.

Across Production Summary, Financial Summary or Ratios, select your desired date range and baseline group with the filters tab on the right-hand side. Then chose the farm/s of you want to compare against that group, by clicking Add Comparison in the middle of the screen.

NOTE: to see the Comparisons tab for the first time on Insights you may need do a 'hard refresh' to clear your browser cache (i.e. on Windows & Chrom, Hold down Ctrl and click the reload button and on Chrome & Mac, Hold down Shift and click reload).

Create a Comparison

  1. Select your date range and periods from the date selector at the top.

  2. Configure your baseline group with the right-hand filters tab (if no filters are added this will include all your farms)

  3. Select data set (i.e. production, financial, or ratios)

  4. Select your metric e.g. $/peak cow

  5. Add your Comparison by clicking Edit Comparison and selecting your farm/s, region, portfolio, or saved filter to compare with the baseline group

  6. Ensure you're reviewing the chart you want (e.g. Milk Gross Profit) or update the drop-down toggle to change

  7. Select your desired chart type e.g. Histogram

Comparisons feature the new histogram graph to help quickly discern where your chosen comparison sits against a baseline distribution. You can also toggle across to a bar or line graph.

The Histogram

  • Represents the distribution of the Baseline group

  • The Comparison group will be displayed as a line plotted on the Histogram

    • Where the Comparison is a single farm, it shows the single farm value

    • Where the Comparison is more than one farm, it shows the average

  • The X axis of the Histogram represents the data values e.g. the $ value or the production value etc.

  • Showing the Comparison group in relation to the Histogram is an indicator of the distance of the Comparison group from the average

  • Select show baseline average/median to see how your comparison group sits against the average

Bar and Line Graphs

You can also choose to switch the graph view to a bar or line graph for a different visual analysis.

In this live example, we're showing a line graph Financial Summary, milk gross profit comparison of all the demo organisation's 9 dairy farms against the Milky Bar Shed farm.

Scroll down to view the table summary below and review the variances across the date period you have filtered. Click on the headings to quickly pull up the graph view of that category and analyse the different area e.g. changing from milk gross profit to gross farm income in the example below.
