MINDA Troubleshooting & Data Syncs

Verifying your MINDA data in Figured and fixing common sync issues.

Troubleshooting

Movements Not Appearing

Movements recorded in MINDA may not appear in Figured for the following reasons:

They haven't been approved in MINDA yet

Depending on your MINDA permission level, adding or removing an animal from a herd may need approval from someone with the Herd Owner permission level. Check the movement is approved in MINDA, then run Sync Historicals on the tracker or wait for the next daily sync.

They are BEFORE your sync start month

No data imports before the month you chose on the Sync Historical Data step. To check or change it, go to Settings > Livestock Integrations, click the pencil icon next to MINDA, and go to Sync Historical Data. Moving the start month earlier triggers a confirmation, and the next sync fills in the extra months.

The MINDA stock class isn't mapped to a Figured stock class

A MINDA class with no Figured class selected on the Map Stock Classes step doesn't sync. Edit the integration, select a class for it, click through to Update Integration, then sync again from the month you need.

The Figured stock class has been disabled on the tracker

If a mapped Figured stock class is disabled on the tracker, nothing syncs into it and the Map Herds step shows Sync will be incomplete. Check each row for details. Re-enable the class in the tracker settings, or map the MINDA class to a different one.

The herd isn't mapped to a tracker

Each MINDA herd needs a tracker selected on the Map Herds step. Edit the integration and check every herd you want in Figured has one.

It's a sale or purchase

Sales and purchases aren't part of the integration, because MINDA doesn't provide prices. Enter them in Figured or bring them in from Xero.

Reconciling entries with a note

Sometimes Figured records a Reconciling entry instead of a normal movement, with a note saying why:

  • No note: animals MINDA couldn't account for in the month. Figured adds the difference so the tracker's closing count still matches MINDA's.

  • Aging In / Aging Out: animals aged between two MINDA classes where one side isn't mapped to a Figured stock class, or both sides are mapped to the same Figured class. Map the missing class and sync again from that month if you want it shown as aging.

All male stock is landing in one class

MINDA has one male stock class, Breeding Bulls, and everything in it imports into the single Figured class you mapped it to. If the farm runs steers or bull calves as well, move those animals into the right Figured classes manually after the sync. Check which Figured class Breeding Bulls is mapped to on the Map Stock Classes step.

Opening balances don't match

The Review Stock Balances step at the end of setup compares the opening balance at your sync month in MINDA and Figured, stock class by stock class. A difference means a movement is in one system but not the other.

  • Add the missing births, deaths or other movements, then check the balances again.

  • Remember the comparison is at the sync month, not today's balance.

  • If you prefer, complete setup and add a reconciling transaction in Figured later.

This step only appears during initial setup. After that, compare the tracker's closing count with MINDA from the tracker itself.

Authorisation Issues

  • An error when authorising: your MINDA permission level doesn't allow it. Ask the herd owner, or someone with delegated authority in MINDA, to authorise. You can email them the link from Figured.

  • Integration stuck on Pending Approval: your client hasn't completed the authorisation email. Check they received it (including spam). The link lasts one week; resend it from Livestock Integrations if it's expired.

  • Can't choose the start month you want: that month is locked in Figured. Only unlocked months can be synced.

Data syncing

Data syncs automatically once a day. Each daily sync covers the current and previous month. To update sooner, or to correct an older month, run a manual sync:

  1. Open the tracker and click the gear icon to open Tracker Settings.

  2. Under Data Integrations, click Sync Historicals.

  3. Choose the month to sync from.

Understanding Synced Data

Trackers connected to MINDA show the MINDA logo on the Trackers page and next to the tracker name. Inside the tracker, each stock class the integration manages carries a MINDA badge.

When you view MINDA transactions in Figured:

  • Date: the month the movement belongs to in MINDA. MINDA provides monthly totals, not individual event dates.

  • Source: shows "MINDA".

  • Read-only: MINDA transactions can't be edited or deleted in Figured. The month-end count MINDA provides is set as the tracker's closing count and locked.

  • If you enter a movement manually on a stock class the integration manages, Figured warns you that the class is managed by the integration.

Making Changes to Synced Data

  1. Make the change in MINDA (and have it approved if needed).

  2. Wait for the next daily sync, or run a manual sync from that month.

  3. The updated numbers appear in Figured.

Changing your mappings

Go to Settings > Livestock Integrations and click the pencil icon next to MINDA. Saving a changed mapping doesn't move data by itself. The next sync applies it to the months that sync covers:

  • A MINDA class you unmap stops syncing. Its transactions are removed for those months and its last imported closing count stays locked.

  • A MINDA class you point at a different Figured class lands there from the next sync.

  • Aging follows MINDA's chain (Rising One → Rising Two → Mixed Age) and lands on whichever Figured classes those are mapped to. If two MINDA classes share a Figured class, no aging is created between them.

To apply a change further back than the current and previous month, run a manual sync from the earlier month.

Managing Your Integration

Viewing Integration Status

Go to Settings > Livestock Integrations and click the pencil icon next to MINDA to see your mapped herds, stock class mappings and sync start month.

Disconnecting the Integration

  1. Go to Settings > Livestock Integrations.

  2. Click the red bin icon next to MINDA.

  3. In the Disconnect Integration dialog, choose whether to also permanently delete all transactions imported by this integration.

  4. Click Yes, disconnect (or Yes, disconnect and delete).

Note: Disconnecting stops future syncs. If you don't tick the delete option, transactions already synced stay in Figured and become editable. If you do, every transaction MINDA imported for this farm is removed, except transactions marked as paid in your accounting system or dated in a locked period. This can't be undone.

Disconnecting only removes the connection on Figured's side. The herd access you granted to Figured in MINDA isn't withdrawn automatically, so if you want that removed as well, contact LIC.
