Before starting the MINDA integration setup wizard in Figured, please work through the checklist below. Completing these steps first helps the integration connect smoothly and your data sync correctly from day one.

1. Confirm Your Eligibility
Available for New Zealand dairy farms only
The farm must be on a Figured Farm Manager, Farm Manager (Adviser) or Farm Reporter subscription
The farm must have at least one Dairy Cattle livestock tracker set up in Figured
The farm must have an active LIC MINDA account
2. Correct Permissions in MINDA
Whether you can authorise the connection depends on your MINDA permission level. You need to be a herd owner or have delegated authority to grant Figured access. Otherwise you'll see a consent error, and someone with the right permissions will need to complete it instead. If that's your client, Figured can email them an authorisation link during setup.
3. Herds Are Set Up in MINDA
During setup, each MINDA herd is mapped to a Figured livestock tracker. Confirm the herds you want to sync already exist in MINDA. One herd maps to one tracker; several herds can share a tracker if you prefer.
4. Enable the Required Stock Classes in Figured
MINDA tracks four stock classes: Rising One Heifers, Rising Two Heifers, Mixed Age and Breeding Bulls. During setup you map each one to a Figured stock class on the tracker, and only enabled stock classes appear in the dropdowns.
How to check
Open your dairy cattle tracker, click the gear icon to open Tracker Settings, then scroll down to Manage Classes.
Tick the classes you'll map to so they're enabled. The defaults are R1 Heifers, R2 Heifers, MA Cows and Breeding Bulls.
Enable any you're missing before starting the wizard.
💡 Male stock: MINDA has only one class for male animals, Breeding Bulls. If you run steers or bull calves in that MINDA class, they'll import into whichever Figured class you map Breeding Bulls to, and you'll need to move them manually.
5. Know What Does and Doesn't Sync
Syncs from MINDA each month: births, deaths (including culls and bobby calves), aging between the four classes, animals MINDA couldn't track (as a Reconciling entry), and the month-end count for each class.
Doesn't sync: sales and purchases (MINDA doesn't give Figured prices), beef, sheep or any non-dairy stock, calves other than replacement heifers (which arrive as births under Rising One Heifers), and per-animal records or event dates. Keep entering sales and purchases in Figured or bringing them in from Xero.
6. Have Your MINDA Login Details on Hand
Authorising the connection means signing in to LIC MINDA and consenting herd by herd. If your client holds the login, you don't need it: Figured sends them an authorisation email during setup. Give them a heads-up so it isn't mistaken for spam.
