You can add several different transactions or movements as part of your crop season. One of those is the ability to record a harvest.

A harvest can only be recorded when inside a crop season and can be either an actual or a forecast.

Adding a harvest

To add a harvest, click the Add Transaction button and select Add Harvest, or expand the Harvest section of your crop season and click Add Harvest.

Harvest information

When adding a harvest transaction, you'll need to enter the following information:

Type (actual/forecast)

Adding the harvest as an actual or forecast depends on your global date settings in the centre of your screen.

If you are trying to add a forecast harvest and you can’t see the forecast option, you may have your date selection incorrect and vice versa.

Harvest date

This is an accrual or profit date. No cash date is required as crop harvesting doesn't impact your bank account's bottom line.

Notes

This can be any additional notes you want to record against a harvest.

Product (e.g. Barley, Corn)

This is the type of crop that you're harvesting.

Yield

Your yield is entered as unit/area, e.g. tonnes/ha. Entering the yield will auto-populate the Total Quantity cell. This will also auto-populate your fields below.

Field Breakdown

Field Breakdown is how you nominate the fields where your crop type was harvested.

For example, if you grew barley across two fields, North & South, and harvested only the North Field, your field distribution would be 100% North Field.

When you are happy with your details, select Next.

Intended Use

You can choose what you intend to use the harvested production for, add a split for different usages, and assign different prices for the various usage types. The types of usages are:

  • Used for Sale - where you intend to sell the crop

  • Used for Feed - where you intend to use the crop for feed that you will attribute to your livestock trackers

  • Used for Seed - where you intend to use the harvested crop to seed future crops, which you will attribute to those future crop seasons

  • Used for Bedding - where you intend to use the crop as a bedding product for livestock

The default usage is to sell your harvested production.

Quantity

Your total harvest is entered in units (e.g. tonnes). This field will auto-populate based on the yield entered above.

Price

Your average sale or market price is entered as $/unit, e.g. $/tonne.

When your details are correct, select Save

What's next

When your crop has been harvested, it'll be moved into your Product Tracker. You can now sell the crop (either from the crop season tracker or the product tracker) or leave it as a crop on hand to be used or sold later.

As you raise harvests, these will contribute to your crop season KPIs.
