Understanding Year End Reporting vs Real-time Tracking in Figured's Farm Reporter
Farm Reporter's livestock tracking modes, Year End Reporting and Real-time Tracking, support different reporting requirements related to managing livestock movements. Below, we provide an explanation of these modes, along with guidance on managing multiple accounts.
Overview of tracking modes
Year End Reporting
Year End Reporting is designed for users who prefer to enter livestock movement data at the conclusion of the financial year rather than throughout the year. Use this mode if your livestock tracking and compliance needs occur on an annual basis instead of requiring real-time updates.
Purpose: Suitable for year-end financial or compliance reports.
How it works: You update livestock trackers and movements only at the year's end.
Real-time Tracking
Real-time Tracking is built for users who need to consistently record livestock movements across the financial year. This enables ongoing, accurate tracking of livestock inventory and enhances reporting capabilities.
Purpose: Ideal for ongoing inventory updates and in-year compliance or financial tracking.
How it works: Livestock records are updated regularly throughout the year.
Changing your tracking mode
To change your tracking mode, you need to go into the settings on the file, and then look for "Basic Farm Info" under the "General" group.
2. From within this page, you can select which tracking mode you wish to use from the drop down box.
