In an individual Figured file, you can configure the accounts to assign your chart of accounts to certain categories. Those categories are pulled into Insights, along with the aggregated data from the farm level.

The blue headings below represent grouped category headings in Insights, displaying the farm-level account categories pulled from the farming files.

Production Gross Profit

Insights provides a high-level gross profit view for each farm operations type. This is pulled from the farm/s gross profit section, meaning that any tracker-mapped accounts and any other income/expenses categorised to the trackers will be included.

Expenses

The dynamic image below shows an example of the categorisation available on the Account Configuration page for an individual farm. It then moves to the Insights financial summary, showing where you can expand the high-level categories to view more details of the account categorisation.

Comparability

Check out this article on Enhancing Comparability of Farms, which details how you can categorise accounts like shareholder salaries to be more comparable across companies and partnerships/sole traders.
