The quickest way to build out reports for your farm is start from a template and then make custom changes on top. Figured templates will be available as well as templates from your organisation, if the are available to this farm.

1. Create a Report

  1. Navigate to Reporting Studio from the main menu on the left.

  2. Select Custom Reports.

  3. Click the + Build a Report button in the top-right corner.

  4. The Build a Template window will open. Here, you have two choices for getting started:

    • Use a Figured Template: Select a layout from the Template dropdown. These are pre-built for specific markets and provide a great foundation, so you don't have to start from an empty page.

    • Start from Scratch: Leave the Template dropdown empty to build your report from a blank canvas.

  5. Complete the report's basic details:

    • Report Name: Give your template a clear, descriptive name (e.g., "Monthly Advisory Report," "Livestock Performance Summary").

    • Description: (Optional) Add a note for your team about what this report is used for.


2. Using the Report Builder

The Report Builder is where you design the layout and content of your report. The interface is split into two main sections: the Pages panel on the left and the Customisation panel on the right.

Pages Panel

This panel lists all the pages in your report. It allows you to structure your document. From here, you can:

  • Rename pages: Click on a page name (e.g., "Untitled Page") to give it a meaningful title, like "Summary" or "Profit & Loss."

  • Reorder pages: Click and drag pages into any order you like.

  • Duplicate page: You can copy an existing page.

  • Add new page: Click the + Add Page button at the bottom of the list.

Customisation Panel

This panel on the right is where you add content. When you click on a blank area of a report page, the Report Builder tab becomes active, showing the components you can add.

You can drag and drop these components onto your page:

  • Chart: Add high visual impact charts, similar to the ones you see in the dashboard

  • KPI: Display specific Key Performance Indicators. You can pull any calculation from your Formula Builder to display as a KPI.

  • Textbox: Add custom text, such as an executive summary, notes, or commentary.

  • Image: Insert images, like your firm's logo, to brand the report.

  • Report: Embed standard Figured financial or production reports directly into your custom layout. (We will add more reports as options as we develop the Reporting Studio further)

  • Farm Summary: Add a pre-built farm summary block, you can select between the different enterprise types.


3. Saving and Running Your Report

When you've finished designing your report, save your changes and navigate back to the main Custom Reports list.

If you belong to an organisation the Custom Reports tab will also show your organisation's templates available for this farm. You have the ability to "Copy to Farm Reports" if you need to make further customisation.

From the main list, you can:

  • View/Edit the report further.

  • Edit Details change name or description

  • Copy the report to create another variation.

  • Download to PDF

  • Delete once the report is deleted you will not be able to restore it
