Background

Figured’s Integrated reporting solution refers to the data that is curated with Insights and then made available to run reports on for related farm/s in the core Figured application.

Insights remains the analytics engine where you can explore and curate data for key decisions, but these outputs can now be served up through to the individual farm (e.g. Farm Reporter / Farm Manager subscriptions).

After running your benchmarking or farm stat analysis with Insights, you can make this data available to the individual farm/s through Saved Views. This generates the end-end workflow for benchmarking and farm stat reports back into the individual farms.

Saved Views in Insights serve two purposes:

  1. Saving the view i.e. all the selected filters/settings/date ranges/metrics applied on your Insights screen, allowing you to quickly refer back to commonly filtered settings on later sessions

  2. Making that saved data (filters/settings/date ranges) available to report on in the individual farm/s through the core Figured application.

Before saving a view you should firstly know how to navigate the filters as well as understand how the Comparisons tab works.

To save a view (as shown in the example below), ensure all your filters, date ranges, and data set is pulling through the information you’d like. Then click the 3 dots > and give it a name. This name is what becomes available for selection in the individual farm/s (whether that be relating to a benchmark or individual farm stats report).

The example shows a benchmark for farm Old Daisy’s Paddock against the curated baseline group. Ticking the box Share with Practice allows others in your organisation to see that view.

Once you’re ready for that data to be made available at the farm level, select Make available for reporting.

To manage your saved views, click the 3 dots > Manage Saved Views. Here you’ll see a list of all the Saved Views taken, along with the permissions. You can then click ‘View Details’ to reveal key information about the data captured for that particular view.

Any time you adjust filters or settings while running a saved view, it will show as “Updated” at the top because you have made changes to what was initially saved. At this point you may choose to save the update, ignore, or remove the view from your selection by hovering over the dropdown and using the ‘x’.

Report Outputs

You can now run the Insights Report for any farms that are part of a Saved View. You'll see it appear under the Financial Report options as 'Insights', shown below.

To access the Insights report in the core app from the report page, users must:

  • Be a member of the organisation where Insights is enabled

  • Have access to the farm the report is running on

Shown below is an example report which has been run off an Insights Saved View called ‘Dairy Benchmark’. Under ‘Additional options’ you can customise a variety of different report settings, but they will default to the settings chosen from your Saved View in Insights.

Additional reporting options

Under Additional options there are key settings that can be customised to retrieve the outputs you’re after, including whether you are after a benchmark or individual farm stats report. Review the lettering options in relation to the image below.

A - Insights View shows any Saved Views made available for reporting from Insights. You can select one view to report on at a time using the dropdown.

B - This section contains the date range/period information for the selected Saved View. The report will run according to these settings. If you wish to alter the period for the report, you will need to make these changes to the Saved View itself on Insights.

C - This allows you to specify whether you wish to run a Benchmark report or a Farm Stats report.

D - What sections you want the report to display and for Financial Summary, whether it should run on a cash or profit basis.

E - $/unit metrics to show in the report. The selection defaults to whatever you had in your saved Insights view but can be altered.

F - The visual charts which appear at the top of the report. Use the nested options to specify the chart option, metric, and period/s you wish to display on the chart.

Automating with Report Packs

Once you have established the report outputs you would like to add to a report pack, save the farm report view and star it as a favourite so you can add it to your organisation report pack.

Due to access levels of the Insights report you will only be able to use it with your organisation report packs at this stage.
